Cindy Zitelman is co-founder and currently President of the Jewish Women's Renaissance Project (JWRP), an organization started in 2008 with a mission to change the world through Jewish values. The JWRP has now taken over 6,000 women - mostly young mothers - from 19 countries on subsidized missions to Israel to help them connect with Jewish roots and legacy, develop a love for Israel and involve themselves communally upon their return.
Cindy is a graduate of the University of Maryland. She started CK Associates, an advertising specialty company in 1985, and spent 16 years in the advertising business before selling her company in 2001. She also served as a meeting consultant for the Export/Import Bank. She currently devotes her time and energy to volunteer work.
Cindy is an active board member of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington. As a board member there, she has co-chaired the Partnership Together (P2G) program. This program helps strengthen the connection between the Greater Washington community, and its partner region of Beit Shemesh/Mate Yehuda in Israel. She has also served as past President of the Jewish Coalition Against Domestic Abuse (JCADA) for the D.C. area.
Since 2007, Cindy has served on the board of Alef Bet Montessori school as a founding board member. As her role as the Secretary of the Board, Cindy helps facilitate the establishment of the school and its growth. She has been most instrumental in helping the School become an Independent Community School in the Washington, D.C. area.
Cindy and her husband, Rick, are the proud parents of three daughters, Shelby (son-in-law Dan), Jackie (son-in-law Omri), and Amy (son-in-law Darren.) They reside in Rockville, Maryland, and Jerusalem, Israel.
